 The Junior Zagato Archive

Our objectives

The main goal of the foundation 'Het Junior Zagato Archief' (the Junior Zagato Archives) in the Netherlands (in short HJZA) is to register on a non commercial basis the chassis number (VIN) of each Alfa Romeo of the type GT 1300 Junior Zagato (105.93) and GT 1600 Junior Zagato (115.24) worldwide and the individual owner behind to create a detailed and documented history of each and every car.

This historical description (like a car history passport) takes place preferably together with the owner of the car and is saved for the future at HJZA as an independent Institute (documentation centre).

HJZA Foundation also aims to keep track in a general sense of whatever happens with the Junior Zagato, like restorations, sales, fairs, exhibitions, events, auctions etc. As a result we have a thorough up-to-date knowledge about the criteria that influences a.o. the value of a Junior Zagato 1300/1600.

Furthermore, the focus is on restoration and maintenance and how and with what materials (additions) the Junior Zagato best can be maintained.

HJZA Foundation strives to promote the friendly contacts between Junior Z owners if they appreciate it in which also the exchange of technical knowledge and skills between members can be improved.

And furthermore:
HJZA Foundation tries to do her utmost to help survive any still existing Junior Zagato and concerning documents in the broadest sense of the word.
 
HJZA Foundation does not organize tour rides for its members.
This is done by to the Junior Zagato Register, part of the SCARB (the oldest and largest AROC of the Netherlands) or the Alfa Romeo Owners Club in your own country.

HJZA Foundation the Netherlands is recognized as such by the Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo Storico (FCA Heritage) and the original design office Atelier Zagato, both established in Milan (Arese/Rho) and has a friendly relationship with both institutions.
HJZA Foundation also maintains a friendly relationship with the Zagato Car Club in Italy.

Onze doelstellingen

Het belangrijkste doel van de Stichting Het Junior Zagato Archief Nederland (kortweg HJZA) is om op non commerciële basis op chassisnummer (VIN) van iedere in Nederland of waar ook ter wereld , rijdende (of nog niet rijdende of te koop staande ) Alfa Romeo van het type GT 1300 Junior Zagato (105.93) en GT 1600 Junior Zagato (115.24) de individuele historie te achter halen en gedetailleerd te documenteren.

Deze geschiedschrijving (het beste te omschrijven als een auto historisch paspoort) vindt plaats bij voorkeur samen met de eigenaar van de auto en wordt voor de toekomst bij HJZA als onafhankelijk instituut (documentatiecentrum) bewaard.

Stichting HJZA streeft er voorts naar om alles wat er in algemene zin in de wereld van de Junior Zagato gebeurt (restauraties, verkopen, beurzen, tentoonstellingen, evenementen, veilingen) bij te houden, waardoor er een grondige actuele kennis aanwezig is over o.a. wat de waarde bepaald van een Junior Zagato 1300/1600.
Voorts is er aandacht voor het fenomeen onderhoud en op welke wijze en met welke materialen (toevoegingen) de Junior Zagato het best onderhouden kan worden. 

Stichting HJZA streeft ernaar om de vriendschappelijke contacten, als daartoe de wens wordt aangegeven, tussen JZ eigenaren te bevorderen, opdat ook daar overdracht van technische kennis en kunde tot de mogelijkheden behoort.
En alles te doen waardoor het voortbestaan van iedere nog bestaande Junior Zagato wordt gewaarborgd.

Stichting HJZA organiseert geen tourritten voor haar donateurs.
Hiervoor verwijzen wij U graag naar het Junior Zagato Register van de SCARB (de oudste en grootste Alfa club van Nederland). Deze evenementen zullen wij opnemen op onze pagina "Nieuws en Evenementen". 

Stichting Het Junior Zagato Archief Nederland wordt als zodanig erkend door het
Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo Storico en het oorspronkelijke ontwerpbureau Atelier Zagato, beiden gevestigd in Milaan (Arese/Rho) en met welke instellingen een nauwe samenwerking bestaat. Ook onderhoudt Stichting HJZA een vriendschappelijke relatie met de Zagato Car Club in Italië.

Onze doelgroep

Chassisnummer houders (ofwel eigenaren) maar ook toekomstig eigenaren van een Junior Zagato, kunnen putten uit een bron van informatie en documentatie.

En hun voordeel doen met de externe contacten die Het Archief onderhoud met het Alfa Romeo Historisch Centrum en de ontwerper, anderen in de autowereld, de wereld van Alfa Romeo en die van de Junior Zagato.
Of kunnen om hulp vragen bij het restaureren van hun Junior Zagato. Vanzelfsprekend, want het Junior Zagato Team adopteert als het ware de auto en voelt zich betrokken bij het project.

Documentatie wordt aan eigenaren tegen de kostprijs van een kopie ter beschikking gesteld. Beeldmateriaal wordt, na toestemming van de belanghebbende, ook tegen kostprijs ter beschikking gesteld. (Uit oogpunt van copyright bescherming worden documenten uitsluitend analoog met bronvermelding verstrekt).
Hulp bij het zoeken naar originele (of alternatieve) onderdelen wordt hen, naar beste weten en kunnen, aangeboden.

Bij wisseling van eigenaar kunnen kandidaat-kopers van een Junior Zagato eveneens gebruik maken van de aanwezige kennis en na toestemming van de rechthebbende eigenaar inzage krijgen in het dossier van het chassisnummer(VIN).

Ook derden (taxateurs, verzekeringmaatschappijen, schaderegelaars, redacties van autobladen, restaurateurs van klassieke auto’s) kunnen desgewenst putten uit de aanwezige kennis en documentatie; voor hen is deze verkrijgbaar tegen een per geval af te spreken vergoeding.

Financiering

Het Junior Zagato Archief is volledig onafhankelijk en wordt uit particuliere middelen gefinancierd. Om haar kosten te dekken, is het Archief afhankelijk van de vrijwillige bijdrage van Junior Zagato eigenaren of donaties van andere geïnteresseerden of betrokkenen die het belangrijk vinden en toejuichen dat het erfgoed van de Junior Zagato wordt bewaard en in stand wordt gehouden.

Met wie heeft u te maken ?

De naam van Rolf van Hillegondsberg bent u al tegen gekomen.

Rolf (vanaf 18 jarige tijd hobbymatig bezig met het merk Alfa Romeo) houdt zich in eerste aanleg bezig met de contacten op Nederlandse bodem en met technisch advies. In een aparte JZ werkplaats houdt hij zich bezig met kleine en grotere restauraties.

Binnen het Junior Zagato Archief is ook werkzaam: Nancy Hendriks.
Nancy is binnen de wereld van Alfisti geen onbekende en werd op zeer jeugdige leeftijd door toedoen van haar vader behept met het Alfa virus.
Nancy houdt zich in hoofdzaak bezig met de JZ eigenaren die buiten Nederland wonen en met de historie van iedere Junior Zagato die bij het Archief wordt ingeschreven. Nancy schrijft naast haar professionele werkzaamheden met enige regelmaat artikelen voor auto- of clubbladen waaronder "Het Klaverblaadje" van de SCARB.

Our target audience 

Chassis number holders (or owners), but also future owners of a Junior Zagato, can draw from a source of information and documentation. 

And take advantage of the external contacts The Archives maintains with the Alfa Romeo Historical Center and the designer, others in the automotive world, the world of Alfa Romeo and that of the Junior Zagato. 

Or they can ask for help with the restoration of their Junior Zagato. Obviously, because the Junior Zagato Team sort of 'adopts' the car and feels involved in the project. 

Documentation is made available to owners at the cost of a copy.

Image material is also made available at cost price, with the consent of the party of interest. (From the point of view of copyright protection, documents are only provided analog with acknowledgment of the source). 

Help in looking for original (or alternative) parts is offered to the best of their knowledge and ability.

In the event of a change of owner, prospective buyers of a Junior Zagato can also use the available knowledge and, after permission from the rightful owner, can inspect the file of the chassis number (VIN). 

Third parties (appraisers, insurance companies, claims adjusters, editors of car magazines, restorers of classic cars) can also draw on the available knowledge and documentation if desired; it is available to them for a fee to be agreed on a case-by-case basis. 

Fianancing

The Junior Zagato Archive is completely independent and is financed by private resources.

To cover its costs, the Archive relies on voluntary contributions from Junior Zagato owners or donations from other interested parties or stakeholders who consider it important and welcome that the Junior Zagato's heritage is preserved and safeguarded.

Who are you dealing with? 

You have already come across the name of Rolf van Hillegondsberg. 

Rolf (from 18 years of age as a hobby in many facets among others driving and building AR race car(s) and AR private car restorations) is primarily concerned with contacts within the Netherlands,with technical advice and contributes his knowledge to restorations based on personal experience.

In his specialized Junior Z workshop he works on small and sometimes larger restorations. 

Nancy Hendriks is equally (or more!) passionated with the brand Alfa Romeo and especially the Junior Zagato. She is no stranger in the world of Alfisti and was infected with the "Alfa virus" at a very young age under the guard of her father.

Nancy maintains the international contacts with our HJZA members, speaks several languages, is treasurer, secretary and archivist of our Junior Zagato Archives. In addition to her professional activities, in the footsteps of her father Ben Hendriks, Nancy regularly writes articles for Car - or Club magazines, including "Het Klaverblaadje" of the SCARB.
